We Offer Several Types of Associate Degrees

Associate in Arts-Direct Transfer Agreement Degree

Transfer degrees can save you time and money.

The Associate in Arts - Direct Transfer Agreement degree (AA-DTA) is for students who plan to transfer to a four-year college after studying at Highline College for two years. The goal is to make it easier for students to transfer to a junior-year class at a public college or university in Washington State after they complete the associate degree requirements.

Professional-Technical Degrees

Professional-technical programs help students gain the skills needed for work. The goal is for graduates to find employment in their chosen field after finishing the program.

2+2 Start Here Stay HereAssociate + Bachelor's Degree

If you plan to earn a baccalaureate (four-year) degree, the transfer program is designed to be the first step to achieve that goal. Highline College offers seven applied bachelor's degrees.

This AA-DTA (Direct Transfer Agreement) degree is designed to satisfy the lower-division general requirements at many Washington colleges and universities.

The AS degree is intended to prepare you for transfer in science, mathematics and other pre-professional fields. 
AS Degree Requirements

Associate of Applied Science

The AAS-T combines technical courses for job preparation and transferable support courses. Transfers to a limited number of institutions.

The AAS degree will prepare you for successful employment in a professional or technical area. Some AAS degrees have pathways to Bachelor of Applied Science degrees.
