Environmental Science Courses
Highline College offers a variety of classes in environmental science. All environmental
science classes fulfill the Natural Science distribution area. Environmental science
classes may also fulfill the laboratory requirement of the Natural Science distribution,
or the diversity and globalism requirement. Courses are offered in both in-person
hybrid and online modalities. Environmental Science laboratory classes are not offered
in an online modality. Please see an advisor for more information.
Science classes at Highline College are small, with focus on community, instructor
interaction, and hands-on advising.
Please refer to the online quarterly course schedule for specific course and modality
schedules. A complete list of classes we offer is available in the Highline Catalog.
Course List
The Ampersand (&) Difference
-
CS& (Common Course Numbering): In Washington, some courses have the same number across all community and technical colleges. These are “common courses.” If a course from a different college has the same number and subject as Highline’s, and an ampersand (&), then they’re considered the same course. They are designed to transfer seamlessly between these schools.
-
CIS (Highline-Specific): Courses without the ampersand are unique to Highline College. While they still transfer to four-year universities (often under a Direct Transfer Agreement), they don't have a pre-matched course at every other community or technical college.
Pathway Map
Program Maps provide quarter-by-quarter paths from entry to graduation for each program.
