Ability to Benefit

You want to attend Highline College but you don’t have a high School Diploma or GED? Ability to Benefit may be able to help.

What is Ability to Benefit?

Ability to Benefit (ATB) is a Federal Student Aid program that provides funding for students without a high school diploma or GED. ATB allows eligible students to pay for tuition, fees, and books.

Eligibility

• Must be at least 16 years old
• Have not received a high school diploma or completed a GED
• Students must meet ONE of the following:
  • Take an approved test, earning the required minimum score.
  • Complete 6 college-level credits that count towards your degree path.
• Must be pursuing a Professional/Technical degree program.
• Individuals interested in accessing Ability to Benefit must submit the FAFSA or WASFA application.

How Can You Get Started?

If you are interested in ATB, schedule an appointment with an ATB Advisor. They will assist you with how to get started, plan out your next steps, and submit the ATB Application.
