ctcLink Tutorials for Students

ctcLink Account Setup

Activate Your ctcLink Account

  1. Navigate to the ctcLink Sign In page.
  2. Select the Activate Your Account link toward the bottom of the page.
  3. Enter your First Name and Last Name. Please make sure you have entered your name correctly. (If your legal name is a single name—such as Pran, Madonna or Nani - you must enter a hyphen (-) in the First Name field and enter your single name in the Last Name field.)
  4. Enter your Date of Birth (MM/DD/YYYY) as shown or use the calendar icon.
  5. From the drop-down menu select:
    • ctcLink ID (new) if you are a new student or employee.
    • SID (old) if you are a current or returning student or employee.
  6. Enter either your ctcLink ID or SID.
  7. Set your Password will display directions on account recovery.
  8. Enter your preferred Email Address.
  9. Enter a Security Question.
  10. Enter a Phone Number (SMS) is to receive the code via text (phone must be capable of receiving text messages). and 
  11. Enter a Phone Number (Voice) is to receive the code via voice call.
  12. Enter Strong Password. Password must be at least eight characters. Include at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter and one number. Do not use all or part of your first or last name as part of your password.
  13. A pop-up message will display your ctcLink Number. Write it down and store safley.
  14. A Close Button will appear on the confirmation page.

Set Your Password

  1. The Set Your Password page displays. This page is used to set up your password and your account recovery options. Enter your preferred Email address.
  2. Additional Account Recovery options located in the Account Recovery box.
    1. Enter Phone Number for text (SMS) option.
    2. Enter Phone Number for voice option.
  3. Create your Password. (At least 8 characters, including at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter and one number. Special characters may be used but are not required. Do NOT use all or part of your first or last name as part of your password.)
  4. Confirm your Password.
  5. Select the Submit button.
  6. A pop-up message displays.
  7. Make note of your ctcLink ID.
  8. Select the OK button.
  9. The Account Activation confirmation message displays.
  10. Close the browser tab.
  11. Make note of your new ID and Password.

  1. Navigate to the ctcLink Sign In page.
  2. Select the Reset Password link at the bottom of the Sign In box.
  3. Rest Password
    • Once you select the Reset Password link from the main sign-in page, enter your ctcLink ID into the ctcLink ID field and select which method - Text, Voice Call or Email - you would like to use to reset your password.
  4. Reset via Text
    • Select the dark blue Reset via Text button.
    • Once you receive the text code, enter it into the Enter Code field and select the Verify button.
    • The Reset your password page displays with listed password requirements.
    • Enter your new password into the New password field.
    • Enter your new password again into the Repeat password field.
    • Select the dark blue Reset Password button.
  5. Reset Via Voice Call
    • Select the dark blue Reset via Voice Call button.
    • Once you receive the verification code, enter it into the Enter Code field and select the Verify button.
    • The Reset your password page displays with listed password requirements.
    • Enter your new password into the New password field.
    • Enter your new password again into the Repeat password field.
    • Select the dark blue Reset Password button.
  6. Reset via Email
    • Select the dark blue Reset via Email button.
    • The Password Reset Email Sent! notification displays explaining that the password reset instructions have been sent to the email aligned to your ctcLink ID.
    • An email with Account Password Reset in the subject line will instruct you to select the Reset Password link that is embedded within the email message.
    • The Reset your password page displays with listed password requirements.
    • Enter your new password into the New password field.
    • Enter your new password again into the Repeat password field.
    • Select the dark blue Reset Password button.

How to Reset your Password

The student hompage version is best utilized when using a desktop ot laptop. There may be times when it’s more convenient to use the mobile version such as when you need to access your student information from your phone. Our tutorials identify what version the instructions reference.
