BSTEC Courses
BSTEC courses are offered in multiple modalities: in-person, online, hybrid, and virtual.
In addition, we offer a select group of classes in a unique modality called the BSTEC Modular Classroom (BMC). Classes in the BMC are modular, self-paced, and open-entry. Open-entry means you can join the class after the quarter has started. If you are looking to get a fast-start to your program before the next quarter starts, or if you need to add a few credits after the quarter has started, BMC classes may be helpful for you.

Many BSTEC classes are also offered in the I-BEST format.
A complete list of classes we offer is available in the Highline Catalog.

Introduction to Google Office is a hands-on course that drops students straight into the modern, cloud‑powered workplace. Google Workspace isn’t just email and docs. It’s an ecosystem infused with AI, real‑time collaboration, and smart automation. Industries like tech startups, marketing and creative agencies, nonprofits, education, and globally distributed teams often choose Google over Microsoft because it’s fast, collaborative by design, and built for working anywhere, anytime.
In this class, students don’t just learn tools—they learn how modern teams actually operate, collaborate, and innovate. If you want practical, resume‑ready skills, and a front‑row seat to how emerging technologies are changing business, this is the class for you!
Meetings have moved into the digital age! Meetings are more than likely to be online, using a tool like Zoom, WebX, Teams, etc. You don’t just walk into a conference room with your laptop (or pen and paper). We have to have the right applications and the right connectivity. We need to manage audio and video feeds, file sharing, and screen sharing. Someone might ask for an interactive whiteboard or a breakout room. You need to be able to troubleshoot if something isn’t working for someone. If you’re the meeting manager you have to set it all up and make sure everything works for all participants (wherever they may be).
Students will manage and operate virtual meeting applications using standard industry software. Students will manage online participants with audio and video. Students will manage online file-sharing, interactive whiteboards, chat sessions, group rooms, and links. Students will be able to demonstrate screen sharing and desktop management.
This is a 5-credit course, offered in a Hyflex modality to mirror real-world meetings.
