BSTEC Modular Classroom

Your Pace. Your Path.

Many BSTEC classes are offered in a special, modular classroom environment. We call this the BSTEC Modular Classroom, or BMC. In the BMC, class content is broken down into individual modules, and you get to work on modules at a pace that works for you. There are no due dates for homework or exams! Everything needs to be complete by the end of the quarter for you to pass the class, and we provide a rules-based structure for you to get that done. We let you progress through course material at a pace that works for you. This allows you to flex your time around work, family, and other commitments. You decide when to do your homework and submit it for grading. You decide when you are ready to take an exam. 

BSTEC Modular Classes are also open-entry. This means you can enroll and start your academic journey before the next quarter starts. Or, if you need to add a few credits after the quarter starts, you can do so which can help preserve financial aid or academic status (rules apply - see an advisor for help). 

With all this flexibility comes responsibility! We are there to help you plan your schedule, so you don't get behind. We provide structure within the flexible framework. Instructors are in the classroom, ready to help you with homework, and help you prepare for exams.
